If you're planning a getaway to Prince Edward County, one question likely tops your list: Where should we stay in Prince Edward County? This post will help you answer that.
Whether you're coming from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, or New York (those four are where most LBV guests visit from), finding the right home base is key to having the BEST County experience. You'll want a place that’s beautiful, peaceful, and well-located.
We both live in the city (Toronto), and we started coming up to the County for weekend trips YEARS before we decided to start our airbnb. One thing we swear by: do NOT stay right within a town (e.g. Picton, Bloomfield, or Wellington).
Instead, take an actual break from crowded, dense city landscapes by choosing to stay in one of the winery / brewery regions OUTSIDE of the three main towns. A few examples: Hillier, Waupoos, or Milford. These areas are where you'll find more secluded, embedded in nature, beautiful accommodations.
LBV is in Milford -- and here's why we love it, the region included.
In Milford:
Bike routes - Amazing, quiet county roads that make for the perfect bike route
Mill Pond - which kids can swim in and in fact, there's even a rope set up for kids to enjoy and swing in during the warm months.
Bakery & Playground - A 10-minute leisure stroll from LBV gets you to the best pastries in the County at PECish Bakery (guests of LBV benefit from our close partnership with them, find out more when you book!)
*If you're travelling with kids, cut your walk in half by stopping at Milford Fairgrounds - home to a big playground that goes literally unused

Nearby:
10 mins to Picton: Our favourite town, where you can find a trendy reformer studio (The Studio PEC), cute shopping (Poa Studio), great coffee (Beacon Bike & Brew), AND amazing restaurants (Theia, Onesta, and Bocado to name a few)
10 mins to Sandbanks Provincial Park: This is loved for its beautiful water and sands in the summer, and equally so in other seasons for its beautiful paths and hikes. Dog-friendly too!
Our favourite wineries and brewery: Lighthall, The Grange, and Slake Brewing. The first two are both amazing wine and vibes, and Slake Brewing has the MOST beautiful views that you'd never expect!
At Le Bon Vivant (LBV):
🛏 Four dreamy bedrooms all outfitted with King size beds and premium mattresses, pillows, and beddings. No drawing straws for bedrooms!
🛁 Spa-worthy bathrooms with walk-in rain showers and a Japanese soaker tub (for a cold plunge or luxurious bath!), made ultra serene through microcement and plaster sinks.
☕ Locally roasted, fresh coffee to start your morning right. Coffee beans are from a local roastery in PEC by Larry's Coffee -- delivered fresh each week ahead of your guest stay.
🔥 Outdoor firepit and fully outfitted deck (hello, comfy loungers) for starry nights and slow mornings
🌱 Sustainably designed and wellness-focused space — from non-toxic wall finishes and organic bedding to reverse osmosis filtered water and your own, private outdoor sauna and infrared heated
Visiting the Main Towns (Picton, Bloomfield, and Wellington):
We love trendy hotels and motels like Wander the Resort, The Lakeside Motel, The Royal Hotel, The Drake Motor Inn, and The Drake Devonshire. However, having stayed at each, we'd actually choose the freedom and space of a beautiful airbnb instead. In our opinion: the best ways to experience the above mentioned destinations are by getting a beach day pass (Wander), a pool day pass (Lakeside or The Royal), swinging by for a fantastic brunch (Wander or The Drake Devonshire), or dropping in for a Coach Haus workout (The Drake Devonshire).
Picton is our favourite town of the three with the most to do. However, once you've done it a couple times, we'd recommend popping over to Wellington for the best shopping - Oak Clothing Co. is our favourite for clothes (both men's and women's) and Anice in the County is our favourite for jewellery (including a make your own experience).
