WHERE TO STAY IN PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY
A local guide to staying, exploring, and planning a getaway to PEC
Prince Edward County is one of Ontario’s most popular weekend destinations, known for its wineries, beaches, and relaxed small-town feel. Whether you’re planning a short weekend (or longer week) away, choosing the right area to stay in PEC can make a big difference to your experience. This guide breaks down the best places to stay in Prince Edward County, how accommodation options vary by season, and what to consider based on what you want to see and do during your visit.
BEST AREAS TO STAY IN PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY
The County is split up into three main towns - Picton, Bloomfield, and Wellington - each of which cover off a certain portion of "Main Street". When you go North or South of each, you then get into other offshoot towns, like Milford, Hillier, or Waupoos. Here we talk about how to choose which town or area to stay in.
Main Towns: Picton, Bloomfield, and Wellington
If your priority is to be able to walk to main restaurants, bars, and shops (e.g. Main Street), you'll want to stay in one of these three towns.
However, you'll still need a bike or car to get to most wineries in PEC, or to get to any other town beyond the one that you're staying in. For example: If you stay in Picton, you won't be able to walk to Bloomfield or Wellington.
Smaller Towns: Milford, Hillier, Waupoos, and more
Visiting from a big city? You might be craving a break or reset from busy city life! If so, we'd strongly recommend staying in one of these towns. Airbnbs and accommodations in these areas are almost always set on acres of untouched land, giving you privacy and distance from busy roads and crowds.
